Chris Rea is currently the Managing Principal Engineer at Seagate Technology, where they oversee a design team focused on heat-assisted recording and magnetic design. Previously, Chris held various engineering roles at Seagate, including Snr. Staff Engineer and Principal Engineer, where they contributed significantly to high-density recording technologies. Earlier, Chris worked as a Researcher at the Royal Greenwich Observatory and held an R&D Engineer position specializing in tape head design in Ireland. They earned a PhD in Physics from Queen's University Belfast, where they also completed a BSc in Physics and Applied Mathematics, along with additional studies at Harvard Business School.
