John Zhang

John Zhang has over two decades of experience in engineering and technology management, with a focus on Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). At Seagate Technology, John served as Staff Engineer and Senior Manager from August 2000 to September 2012, leading the implementation of PDM/PLM systems across global design and manufacturing centers. Since September 2012, John has held the position of Engineering IT Director, successfully launching Windchill PLM 11 in October 2020 and integrating it with multiple enterprise applications. Prior experience includes roles as Team Lead and Associate Research Professor at Tsinghua University, Research Scientist at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and Guest Researcher at NIST, contributing to advancements in CAD/CAM integration and automated process planning. John holds a Ph.D. in Manufacturing Engineering and Automation from Tsinghua University.
