Michael Alex is a seasoned data channel and recording subsystems architect with extensive experience in data storage and consumer electronics. They currently engage in research and development at Seagate Technology and have previously worked as a Senior Research and Development Engineer at Picarro, Inc., where they focused on laser characterization and wavelength tuning algorithms. With a strong background in machine learning and signal processing, Michael has contributed to significant advancements in recording technologies at Western Digital Corporation and Hitachi Global Storage Technologies. They hold a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and have authored over 30 peer-reviewed publications as well as holding 18 US patents to date.
