Daniel Lohin

Daniel Lohin has over 14 years of experience in the IT industry. From 2005 to 2015, they held various positions such as Web Developer, System Administrator, Lead Technologist, Adjunct Professor, Principal Security Engineer, and Owner/Educator. In 2005, they worked as a Web Developer at Penn State University, where they worked with PHP and SQL to create an XML driven website with content and style separated. In 2006, they were a System Administrator intern at Morgan Corporation, where they assisted in provisioning Windows desktops and worked on access controls for the website. In 2007, they were a System Administrator Level II at Lockheed Martin, where they worked in a heavily virtualized environment with VMware Infrastructure and shared centralized storage. In 2009, they were a Lead Technologist at Booz Allen Hamilton, where they developed the architecture for an IAAS solution, led a team of engineers who built a "Lab as a Service" for testing and developing software, and led an investment project to develop a C# application for managing risk across an enterprise. From 2012 to 2015, they were an Adjunct Professor at Howard Community College and an Owner/Educator at Secure Architectures, where they developed Information Security Massive Open Online Courses for consumption online. Additionally, they worked as a Principal Security Engineer at Sealing Technologies, Inc. from 2015, where they supported testing of computer network defense systems and planned and executed a DoD cyber exercise for both network operations and cyber network defense operators.

Daniel Lohin earned a Masters in Information Security and Assurance from George Mason University between 2007 and 2011, and a Bachelor of Science in Information Science and Technology (IST) from Penn State University between 2003 and 2007. Daniel also holds certifications from AXELOS Global Best Practice (ITIL-Foundation, obtained in August 2014), The Open Group (TOGAF 9.1 Certified, obtained in February 2014), EC-Council (CEH, obtained in June 2012 and ECSA), Red Hat (RHCSA, expired), and CompTIA (Security+).
