SearchLight ETA is a platform focused on building and scaling the Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition (ETA) ecosystem in India.

ETA is a globally proven model of entrepreneurship where high-caliber individuals, known as Searchers, partner with aligned investors to identify, acquire, and scale profitable small and mid-sized (SME) businesses. Searchers step in as long-term owner-operators with meaningful equity ownership and strong Board support, creating a clear pathway for growth and value creation.

India has tens of thousands of profitable, recurring, cash-generating SME businesses, many of them family-owned and built over decades by dedicated promoters. Despite strong fundamentals, experienced employee bases, repeat customers, and long-standing customer relationships, many of these businesses face succession and ownership transition challenges as promoters approach retirement or seek an exit.

At the same time, India has a deep pool of entrepreneurial and operating talent with the ambition, capability, and energy to lead the next phase of growth for these businesses.

SearchLight ETA brings together Promoters, Searchers, and Investors to facilitate ownership transition, preserve business continuity, and unlock long-term value, while accelerating the development of the ETA ecosystem in India.
