Tom Anthony has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Tom started their career in 2002 as a Web Developer, Systems Administrator & Lead Beta Tester at Ambrosia Software, Inc. where they were responsible for the development and maintenance of the online store and website. In 2005, they founded their own consultancy, Tom Anthony Digital Marketing Consultancy, where they worked with various companies on their digital marketing needs.
In 2007, Tom joined the University of Hertfordshire as a PhD Research Student, focusing on developing methods to drive intelligent behaviors in task-less scenarios. During this time, they were also a Director at Far & Ride, a position they held until joining Distilled in 2011.
At Distilled, Tom held multiple roles including Senior SEO Consultant, Head of R&D (where they built various internal tools and pitched the idea of a proxy platform for SEO A/B testing which became DistilledODN), and VP Product (responsible for taking the SearchPilot platform to the next level).
In 2020, Tom joined SearchPilot as the Chief Technology Officer, overseeing the growth and development of the platform.
Throughout their career, Tom has gained significant experience in digital marketing, SEO, product development, and technology, and has worked with companies of various sizes across different industries.
Tom Anthony completed their education with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Hertfordshire, which they pursued from 2007 to 2017. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc Hons) degree in Computer Science from the same institution, graduating between the years 2000 and 2004. Tom's primary education took place at Bedford Modern School, where they attended from 1990 to 2000.
