Sam Whelan is a Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in design and project leadership roles across multiple organizations. Currently, at Seaspan ULC since May 2022, Sam has progressed from Mechanical Engineer I to Mechanical Engineer II, following a tenure as Detail Designer. Prior experience includes leading a design team for a clay barge work boat at Waterways Ireland and collaborating with naval architects and maintenance teams, as well as delivering design updates for OEM customers at Valeo. Sam began the engineering career in student and summer roles, including positions at Cook Medical and Bord na Móna. Sam holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Limerick.
