Michael Ritter has a diverse work experience in the field of IT and cybersecurity. Michael currently works as a Principal Security Consultant at SEC Consult Group since 2023. Before that, they were a Team Lead Pentesting at Pentest Factory GmbH from 2017 to 2022.
Prior to their role at Pentest Factory GmbH, Michael worked at Deloitte from 2014 to 2017. Michael'srole there was Cyber Security Consultant in the Cyber Risk Services department. During their time at Deloitte, they were responsible for coordinating and managing international penetration tests for DAX-30 companies, conducting vulnerability assessments, performing source code analysis, and designing and conducting training sessions for developers.
Before joining Deloitte, Michael had experience as an Intern and working student in the Penetration Testing department at Deloitte from 2014 to 2016. Michael also worked as an IT Specialist at Justus-Liebig University Giessen from 2011 to 2015, where they were involved in database development and maintenance, data analysis, website maintenance, and user helpdesk.
Additionally, Michael gained research experience as part of the Research Apprenticeship Program at the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater, where they supported a research project on using Twitter for situational awareness in public health.
Michael also has experience in international travel, having embarked on a Work and Travel adventure in Australia from 2009 to 2011.
