Dr. Kari Aho has a diverse work experience in the technology and communications industries. From 2006 to 2007, they worked as a Research Trainee and Researcher at the University of Jyväskylä and Nokia Research Center, where they focused on studying the performance and improvements of 3G group transmissions. Dr. Kari completed their Masters thesis and degree during this time.
In 2008, Dr. Aho joined Magister Solutions Ltd. as a Senior Research Scientist, working on international research projects with Nokia and Nokia Siemens Networks. Dr. Kari developed solutions for terminal power savings and mobility robustness in HSPA+ and LTE terminals. Dr. Kari later became a Business Development Manager and Project Manager at Magister Solutions, where they managed a local HSPA+ R&D team, conducted business development activities, and completed their Ph.D.
From 2011 to 2018, Dr. Aho served as the Chairman of the Board, Co-owner, and Founder of Versine Ltd, a company focused on cloud and mobile software technology design and development. Dr. Kari utilized technologies such as HTML(5), CSS, JavaScript, JQUERY, PHP, MySQL, and Perl for frontend and backend solutions.
In 2013, Dr. Aho also became the CEO and Board Member of MDO Group Oy, which specializes in critical infrastructure and asset documentation tools. Dr. Kari managed field work operations, projects, and costs for the company until December 2018.
Currently, Dr. Aho is the CEO of Secapp - Critical Communications, a company that provides secure chat, alerting, and reporting software for critical communications purposes.
Dr. Kari Aho began their education at the University of Jyväskylä in 2003, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunications, which they successfully completed in 2006. Continuing their academic journey, they obtained a Master of Science degree in Telecommunications from the same university, graduating in 2006. Dr. Aho then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree with a specialization in Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications, starting in 2003 and completing their Ph.D. studies in 2010. During their Ph.D., they also earned a Ph.D. degree in Telecommunications in 2009. Thus, Dr. Kari Aho has an extensive educational background in the field of Telecommunications, culminating in a PhD in 2010.
