Victor Picheny

Victor Picheny has a diverse work experience in research and machine learning. Victor is currently working at Secondmind as the Director of Research, a role they have been in since March 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Head of Bayesian Optimization from June 2021 to March 2022, and as a Senior Applied Scientist from April 2020 to May 2021. Victor also worked as a Senior Machine Learning Researcher at Secondmind from September 2018 to March 2020.

Before joining Secondmind, Victor worked at Inra - Institut national de la recherche agronomique in France as a Research Fellow/Chargé de recherche 1ère classe from September 2012 to August 2018. Victor also gained experience as a Post-doctorate researcher at CERFACS from September 2011 to August 2012, and as a Post-doctoral researcher at CentraleSupélec from September 2009 to August 2011.

Victor Picheny earned their Master's degree in Engineering and Applied Mathematics from École des Mines de Saint-Étienne in 2005. Victor went on to pursue their Doctorat in Aerospace Engineering and Applied Mathematics from the same institution, completing it in 2009. During this time, they also earned a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Aerospace Engineering and Applied Mathematics from the University of Florida, where they studied from 2005 to 2009.
