Markus Einarsson

Markus Einarsson has extensive work experience in the field of IT security and system administration. Markus started their career as a System Administrator and Internet/Unix Specialist at Holavedsgymnasiet in 1996. Markus then worked as a System Administrator and Portal Coordinator at Tranås kommun from 1997 to 2009, where they were responsible for the development and maintenance of e-services for employees, students, and parents. Markus also conducted training sessions and lectures.

From 2009 to 2014, Markus worked as a System Administrator at Linköpings kommun, where they were responsible for the maintenance, development, and security of educational systems. Markus also led development projects and implemented integration solutions.

In 2014, Markus joined Rikspolisstyrelsen as a Technical System Leader, overseeing the IT administration for the police's financial administrative systems and payment services. Markus was responsible for technical documentation, ensuring compliance with security requirements, and maintaining test environments.

From 2015 to 2018, Markus worked as a Security Architect Cloud Solutions at Sectra, focusing on the Sectra Cloud Platform's security architecture. Markus was also part of the Security Incident Response Team.

From 2018 to 2021, Markus served as a Senior Security Analyst Critical Infrastructure at Sectra. Markus delivered security services for critical infrastructure environments and was the product owner for Digital Forensics and Incident Response offerings.

Currently, Markus works at Sectra as a Security Architect and Incident Response Lead - Cloud Operations. Markus is responsible for securing cloud-hosted customer environments and leads the Incident Response Team.

Markus Einarsson has a diverse education history. Markus began their studies at Linköping University from 1997 to 2002, where they obtained a Master of Science in Computer Science and Engineering with a specialization in Datateknik. In 2005 and 2006, Markus pursued language studies at the Instituto Cultural Peruano Norteamericano in Lima, Peru, completing a Programa de Español para Extranjeros in Spanish.

In 2006, Markus attended Continental Asesores Internacionales in Lima, Peru, where they earned a Diplomado de Comercio Exterior y Operatividad Aduanera, focusing on Utrikeshandel (International Trade).

In 2015, Markus further expanded their cybersecurity knowledge by attending the KTH Royal Institute of Technology. During this time, they completed a short course in IT-Security II, specializing in Computer Forensics.

Additionally, Markus holds several certifications in their field. Markus obtained CompTIA Network+ certification from CompTIA in November 2015. Markus also possesses an extensive list of certifications from GIAC Certifications. Markus earned the GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA) certification in August 2016, followed by GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) and GIAC Advisory Board certifications in January 2016. Markus obtained the GIAC Response and Industrial Defense (GRID) certification in December 2018, the GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA) certification in December 2019, the GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner (GCFE) certification in June 2020, and finally the GIAC Certified Detection Analyst (GCDA) certification in December 2020. Markus'smost recent certification is the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, obtained from Microsoft in August 2022.
