Mark Koek

Mark Koek is an experienced IT security professional, currently serving as CEO of Securance HackDefense since January 2024, where the focus is on penetration testing and IT assurance services for companies and governments across Europe. Prior to this role, Mark founded HackDefense BV in 2017, specializing in making IT security comprehensible through ethical hacking and red teaming services. Co-founding Phishingtest.nl in 2016 highlighted a commitment to enhancing preparedness against phishing attacks. Mark has also held significant positions including Freelance IT Security Advisor at QCSec, Head of Ethical Hacking at Fox-IT, and Senior Consultant at Deloitte, along with a foundational role as a Technical Specialist at GOVCERT.NL. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Leiden University, complemented by early experience in technology at Philips Research.
