Max Schachter

National Security Advisory Council Member

Max Schachter is a national school safety advocate and the founder and executive director of Safe Schools for Alex, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing resources and best practices for school safety. Following the tragic loss of their son Alex in the Parkland school shooting, Max has been a vocal advocate for policy changes at the federal level, collaborating with government officials, including members of Congress and the President. Max has served as an advisor to the U.S. Secret Service and the FBI, focusing on threat assessment and violence prevention in schools. Additionally, Max holds positions on various safety commissions and committees, promoting effective school safety measures. Their work has been recognized with several awards, including the U.S. Department of Justice Attorney General Citizen Volunteer Service Award.
