Peter Priest is an experienced cyber security professional currently serving as SOC Team Lead and Lead Analyst at Secure Sphere Consulting (Pty) Ltd since March 2020. In this role, Peter is responsible for monitoring, investigating, and responding to incidents reported by the SIEM, as well as engaging in threat hunting, vulnerability management, and the development of standard operating procedures. Prior to this, Peter worked as a Technical Consultant at Thembanet, managing the NOC environment for MassDiscounter’s Riverhorse Regional Distribution Centre, and gained foundational skills as a Junior NOC Engineer intern at NIL Learning. Additionally, Peter held a temporary role as Application Manager at NIL Data South Africa, organizing schedules for training courses across multiple countries. Peter holds a National Senior Certificate from Kearsney College and a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stellenbosch University, complemented by ongoing education at the Cisco Networking Academy.
