Peter Peneder

Peter Peneder is a machine learning researcher and bioinformatician focused on AI applications for biosecurity. As a Research Scientist at SecureBio, they build safeguards and evaluations for cutting-edge AI models to mitigate potential pandemic threats. Peter's current work involves creating a benchmark to assess the predictive capabilities of AI models in biological experiments. Previously, during their PhD at the University of Vienna and the Tomazou Lab, they developed advanced machine learning models for cancer diagnostics, including work published in *Nature Communications*. Peter also holds a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and a Master of Science in Bioinformatics, both earned with honors at the University of Vienna.
