Greg Gisriel, CISA

Greg Gisriel, CISA, has had a long and successful career in IT Audit and Risk & Compliance. Greg began their career in 1996 as a Senior Auditor at Cotton & Company LLP, where they audited the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the U.S. Department of Education. In 1999, they moved to American Express as a Senior Accountant, where they provided client services of audit, compilation, litigation support, and reviews for a diverse client base. In 2002, they joined Howard Hughes Medical Institute as a Senior Auditor and was part of the IT Security Working Group. From 2006 to 2010, they were IT Audit Manager at Aggregate Industries, where they developed the initial IT audit function and designed annual IT Audit Plans. From 2010 to 2018, they were Information Assurance Manager at Cotton & Company LLP, where they directed the 2011 USAID independent information security evaluation and managed the 2010 DOJ independent information security evaluation. From 2018 to 2020, they were with the Federal Aviation Administration as an IT Audit Senior Manager/Consultant, overseeing all internal and external audits. Greg is currently a Technology Risk Consultant at Vertex11 and previously served as Senior Director, IT Risk & Compliance at the University of Maryland University College from 2012 to 2017.

Greg Gisriel obtained their Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Maryland in 1996. Greg then obtained their Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) from ISACA in December 2000. In 2004, they completed their Masters of Science in Information Assurance from Norwich University in 2006.
