Chief Information Security Oficer & Engineering Practice Lead at SecureStrux

As Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Lead Cybersecurity Engineer, Justin Sylvester provides cybersecurity assessment and engineering services that help SecureStrux and its clients identify, prioritize, and mitigate critical cybersecurity risks.

Justin’s main areas of focus include vulnerability management, cloud security, secure system configuration, risk management, Command Cyber Readiness Inspection (CCRI) assessment and remediation, and the development of innovative security-relevant automation.

Justin is a thought leader within the cybersecurity community, has written several articles, and has given numerous presentations on gaining visibility into organization and enterprise-wide vulnerabilities.

He is the principal developer of the PowerStrux family of auditing tools, a collection of analytic toolsets that leverage the Windows PowerShell (Windows) and PowerShell Core (Linux) scripting languages to ingest, parse, and report on system events.

In his role as CISO, Justin is responsible for establishing and maintaining the SecureStrux enterprise security program to ensure internal information assets and technologies are adequately protected.

Justin previously worked for General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) as a Security Analyst where he gained extensive vulnerability management experience using Tenable’s Tenable.sc and Nessus applications.

Justin earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Wayne State University and has earned a CISSP, CCSP, GPEN, CEH, Security+, and AWS Certified – Security certifications.
