Chris Cooper

Chris Cooper's work experience includes various roles in the technology and security industry. Chris is currently working as a DevSecOps Principal Engineer at Securly, where they collaborate with the DevOps and Development teams to develop and deploy secure code, improve stability, and reduce patch time. Chris also assists with investigations and focuses on keeping children safe on the internet.

Prior to Securly, Chris served as a Board Member at CornCon Security Conference, starting in 2014. Chris has extensive experience with the QuakeCon Organization, where they started in 2001 and held positions such as Team Lead for Exhibition and Ancillary Connectivity Services. In this role, Chris was responsible for designing and deploying VLANS, wireless networks, firewalls, and routers.

In 2022, Chris worked as a Technical Product Manager at Linewize US, managing the integration of Cipafilter with the Family Zone ecosystem and designing new products.

From 2012 to 2022, Chris was a Senior Network Engineer at CIPAFilter, where they had various responsibilities, including customer support, quality assurance, network engineering, and system performance analysis. Chris also worked on research and development and product architecture, with a focus on Linux-based networking, security, and performance analysis.

In addition to their technology roles, Chris has been involved in the QC Co-Lab, a Makerspace community space, as a founding member from 2009 to 2018. Chris also worked as a Senior Technician at DCS Computer Services from 2007 to 2012 and as a Lead Field Service Technician at H&R Block in 2006.

Chris Cooper obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Technologies/Technicians from Hamilton Technical College, where they studied from 2003 to 2006. In addition, they have various certifications including Amazon Web Services Cloud Practitioner, Amateur Radio Extra Class, MikroTik Certified Network Associate, MikroTik Certified Routing Engineer, MikroTik Certified Traffic Control Engineer, MikroTik Certified Wireless Engineer, Microsoft Certified Professional, and Cisco Certified Network Associate.
