Christopher Bontrager

Christopher Bontrager is the current Membership Committee Chairman at SEDC. Christopher has held this position since March 2018. Prior to that, they were the Portfolio Director at Retail Strategies from March 2017 to February 2021. Before that, they were the Executive Director at Marengo County Economic Development Authority from March 2017 to March 2018. Christopher has also served as the Vice President at C3 of Northwest Alabama E.D. Alliance from January 2016 to March 2017 and as the Director's Assistant at Macon County Economic Development Authority from April 2015 to January 2016. Christopher has also worked as the Political Science Content Leader (Graduate Assistant) at Auburn University Athletic Department from August 2014 to December 2015. Christopher has also served as a Student Athlete Tutor/Study Hall Monitor at Auburn University Athletic Department from August 2012 to August 2014. Christopher has also served as an Enlisted Soldier/Commissioned Officer in the United States Army from January 2007 to November 2018.

Christopher Bontrager has a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) degree in Economic Development from Auburn University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Public Administration from the same school. Christopher also has a certification in German Language and Literature from the Austro American Institute of Education, and a certification in General Studies from Wallace State Community College - Hanceville. Additionally, Christopher Bontrager holds certifications from the Alabama Real Estate Commission in Alabama Real Estate Salesperson License, from the University of Oklahoma in Economic Development Institute, from The University of Alabama in Economic Development Applied Honors Course, and from the International Economic Development Council in Auburn University Intensive Economic Development Course.
