Marek Karas

Marek Karas is currently a Senior Optometrist at the SeeAbility Eye Care Team, where they work primarily with children in special schools and are focused on establishing in-school eye testing. They qualified as an Optometrist in 1992 after completing their pre-registration year at Moorfields Eye Hospital, subsequently advancing to Senior Optometrist there. From 1998 to 2010, Marek held various roles at RNIB, including Deputy Head of the Low Vision and Eye Health Team and clinical lead at the Camden and Islington Low Vision Center. They are also a Module Leader at the Welsh Optometric Postgraduate Center at Cardiff University and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy since 2018, continuing their involvement in low vision practice as the Low Vision Lead Optometrist at St Thomas Hospital, London.
