James Smith

James Smith is an accomplished entrepreneur and board director with extensive experience in product, marketing, and technology strategy. As the founder and board director of Elliptic since 2013, James has driven product and go-to-market strategies, raised $40 million in venture capital, and nurtured team cultures centered on customer focus. Additional roles include serving as a mentor at Seedcamp and previously as a non-executive director at the world's first cryptocurrency hedge fund. James's professional background also encompasses trading in both relative value derivatives and fixed income derivatives at Liquid Capital Group and Wolverine Trading, respectively. Academically, James holds a DPhil in Computer Science from the University of Oxford and both an MPhil in Computer Speech and Language and an MA in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge.
