Senior Principal Software Engineer at Seeq

Jason Rust has extensive experience in software engineering and development. Jason has worked at various companies in different roles throughout their career.

From 2015 to the present, Jason has been employed at Seeq Corporation. Jason started as a Principal Software Engineer and eventually became a Senior Principal Software Engineer. In their current role, they are responsible for designing and writing frontend React code and backend Java/Kotlin code for time series analytics. Jason is also a member of the product architecture team and manages a squad of 10 developers.

Prior to their work at Seeq Corporation, Jason worked at Lesson Planet from 2011 to 2014. Jason started as a Software Engineer and later became the Director of Software Engineering. During this time, they played a crucial role in the major billing system rewrite and mentored interns and junior developers.

From 2006 to 2011, Jason worked as a Software Consultant at Rusted Code. Jason worked with the Federal Election Commission and converted their auditing program to a web-based version. Jason also migrated and maintained eCommerce sites using PHP and Drupal.

Before that, from 2002 to 2006, Jason worked at Brooks Institute as an IT Systems Analyst. Jason developed a web application for issue tracking and equipment lending and contributed to open-source projects.

Jason began their career at Benefit Software Inc. from 2000 to 2002 as a Web Developer and System Administrator. Jason converted a legacy system to PHP and MySQL and optimized the servers and code for better performance.

Jason Rust received their B.A. degree from Westmont College from 1998 to 2001. Jason then pursued a Master of Theology degree from Fuller Seminary from 2002 to 2006.
