Troels Agerbo has a diverse and extensive work experience. Troels started their career in 1990 as a student programmer at Cosan Crisplant. Troels then worked as a software developer at Telebit from 1992 to 1997, where they developed router software and configuration tools using C++. After that, they worked as a software consultant at Twinsoft/Tandem/Compaq for a brief period. In 1998, they became a software consultant at TietoEnator, where they worked on data and telecommunication projects, including developing a custom time sync application for Ericsson Telebit and GPRS for Ericsson Aalborg. From 2001 to 2003, Troels worked as a software developer at Cryptomathic. Troels then joined YORK Marine Controls in 2003 and worked as a software developer, where they developed SCADA systems for container terminals and ships. From 2006 to 2011, they worked at Vestas Wind Systems A/S, first as a SCADA software engineer developing SCADA systems using Borland, C++, and C#, and later as a software engineer, focusing on .NET development for the Turbine Toolkit used by service technicians and using C#, WCF, and WPF. Since 2011, Troels has been working at SEGES P/S as a system developer, where they are the lead developer and application architect for a system that exposes the Danish cattle database as a web service using both WCF and Webapi.
Troels Agerbo's education history begins with their elementary education at Præstemarkskolen, where they completed their "folkeskolens afgangsprøve" (9th-grade exam) from 1979 to 1982. After that, they attended Amtsgymnasiet i Hadsten from 1981 to 1990, where they obtained a "Student" degree with a major in "mat-fys" (mathematics and physics). Following this, Troels Agerbo enrolled in Aarhus University from 1985 to 1992, where they pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science and Mathematics.
