Carol Austensen is the current Managing Director at SEI. Carol has over 20 years of experience in business strategy, operations management, software development, program and project management, business analysis, user experience, and interaction/interface design.

Austensen began their career in Aflac as the U.S. Shared Services Vice President from September 2006 to July 2010. In this role, they were accountable for the growth and profitability of the U.S. Shared Services business unit which included responsibility for P&L, business planning, budgeting, forecasting, and people management.

In August 2010, Austensen took on the role of Chief Operating Officer and Consulting Practice Lead at OneSpring with accountability for securing new client consulting engagements, growing relationships and revenue with existing clients, staffing and management of business consultants, leading critical client engagements, and building and managing practices for internal operations that increase consulting firm revenue and profitability.

During their five years at OneSpring, Austensen deepened their expertise in the federal sector by working with agencies such as DHS, CBP, ICE, and IRS. Carol also gained extensive commercial consulting experience within industries such as Automotive, Aerospace, Telecom, Consumer Goods, Travel and Entertainment, and Business Services.

In their current role as Managing Director at SEI, Austensen is responsible for leading the company’s digital transformation consulting practice. Under their guidance, SEI has become a trusted advisor to large organizations undergoing complex digital transformations.

Carol Austensen reports to Bill Gallagher, CEO. They are on a team with David Ortiz - Managing Director, Maria Korengel - VP of Administration, and Erin Sullivan - Managing Director.
