Sara Lockyear

Assistant Headteacher at The Sele School

Sara Lockyear has been working as an Assistant Headteacher at Sele since September 2018. Prior to that, they were a Curriculum Leader for Science at Stanborough School from September 2018 to September 2022. Sara also worked as a Lead Teacher at The Nobel School from July 2017 to August 2018, where they were responsible for KS4 Science and working with PiXL Independence skills. From September 2014 to September 2015, Sara was a Lead Teacher at Mount Grace School, and they were an Associate Assistant Headteacher at Onslow St Audrey's School from September 2015 to January 2017. Sara has also been a Head of Science at Francis Bacon Maths and Computing College from January 2008 to September 2012, and a Second in Science at Goff school from September 2003 to January 2008.

Sara Lockyear holds a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Hertfordshire. Sara also holds a Bachelor’s Degree (HONs) in Chemistry from the same school. In addition, they have certification from Tes in Child Protection in Education and The Prevent Duty.

Sara Lockyear reports to Ross Gallacher, Deputy Headteacher. They are on a team with Rhys Halliday - Key Stage Manager, Jo Axton - School counsellor, and Nicky Wragg - Inclusion Manager.
