Matt Downs

Matt Downs has over 20 years of work experience in the technology industry. Matt is currently the VP of Technology at SelectBlinds since January 2023. Prior to this, they worked as the Senior Director of Technology at SelectBlinds from February 2022 to January 2023. Matt also served as the Director of IT at SelectBlinds from December 2013 to February 2022, where they led an agile team and oversaw the acquisition and maintenance of business critical systems. Before joining SelectBlinds, Matt worked as a Lead Software Engineer at Emerge.MD from October 2010 to February 2013. Matt was responsible for creating and managing an agile development process and mentoring a team of developers. Prior to this, Matt worked as a Software Engineer at Emerge.MD from June 2006 to October 2010, where they developed HIPAA-compliant solutions and implemented a multi-tiered framework. Matt started their career as an Inventory Controller at Cactus Enterprises from August 2005 to June 2006. Matt also served as a Representative/Missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Netherlands and Belgium from July 2003 to August 2005, where they became fluent in Dutch and taught the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Matt Downs earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Software Engineering from Arizona State University. Matt attended the university from 2002 to 2008. Later, they pursued a Master of Computer Science (MCS) degree with a focus on Information Assurance from Arizona State University, which they completed from 2011 to 2012.
