David Hempstead has extensive work experience in the visual effects industry. David started in 2011 as a 3D VFX Artist at The Mill, where they worked until 2016. During this time, they also held the role of CG Lead, where they led a team in creating computer-generated effects. In 2020, they became a Visual Effects Supervisor at The Mill, overseeing the visual effects production on various projects. In 2021, they were promoted to Creative Director, taking on a more strategic and leadership role within the company. In 2023, they joined Selected Works as a Visual Effects Supervisor.
David Hempstead obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Product Design Engineering from the University of Glasgow. David attended from 2005 to 2009. David then pursued further education at The Glasgow School of Art from 2009 to 2010, earning a Master of Design degree in 3D Digital Animation.
