Daniel Davison is a highly experienced technology professional with a strong focus on software engineering and test automation. Currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer in Test at GitLab since June 2018, Daniel has played a crucial role in implementing test strategies, improving test coverage, and coaching fellow engineers. Previously, Daniel contributed to the establishment of processes within the Quality team at GitLab as a Senior Test Automation Engineer. Additionally, Daniel has been a Contributor and Maintainer at Selenium since 2015, managing Docker repositories and core source documentation. Prior roles include Solutions Architect II and QA Test Automation Architect at Ericsson, where Daniel authored key software development lifecycles and provisioned testing pipelines. Earlier experience includes a Software Test Engineer position at ProQuest, focusing on test automation architectures, and a Software Developer role at Tria Design Firm, maintaining E-commerce websites. Daniel holds an IT/Computer Programming degree from the University of Phoenix.

Selenium automates browsers. That's it! What you do with that power is entirely up to you. Primarily, it is for automating web applications for testing purposes, but is certainly not limited to just that. Boring web-based administration tasks can (and should!) also be automated as well.
