Brian Tseng

Brian Tseng is currently an Associate Software Engineer at Self. Prior to that, they were a Graduate Research Assistant at Texas State University from February 2017 to December 2017. In their role as Graduate Research Assistant, Brian helped the research team to meet the paper publication deadline by developing a Java program to automate experimental procedures, which achieved estimated time savings of 75%. Brian also used Java to develop an Android application to detect falls for the elderly, in a five-person team. The application used smartwatch/phone to get motion data, and on-device machine learning models to predict falls. Brian was able to pinpoint the bottleneck and improve the training process/algorithms, which increased the accuracy to 93.33%.

Brian Tseng has a Master's degree in Computer Science from Texas State University and a Certificate Degree in Computer Science from Texas State University. Brian also has a Bachelor's degree in Atmospheric Science from National Taiwan University.

They are on a team with Brandon Hines - Lead Software Engineer, James Kim - Associate Security Engineer, and Kristin Faner - Software Engineer. Their manager is Gaby Lopez, Engineering Manager.
