Matthew Johns

Matthew Johns is the Chief Engineer at Sellafield Ltd, where they currently lead the Engineering Department focused on waste retrieval in legacy facilities. Previously, they held several leadership roles at Sellafield Ltd, including Head of Site Wide Services and Head of Engineering Retrievals, overseeing large teams and driving improvements in safety and productivity. Matthew earned a Master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering & Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering & Commerce from Birmingham University. Their career began as a Graduate Trainee at BNFL, where they developed foundational skills in waste operations and manufacturing management.
