Penny R. has extensive experience in the nuclear and materials science sectors, currently serving as Roving Technical Manager and previously holding roles such as Senior Technical & Research Manager and Chair of the 3D Printing Committee at Sellafield Ltd since May 2009. Prior experience includes positions as Alpha Containment Materials Specialist at British Nuclear Group Limited and Facilities Rationalisation Programme Manager at Nexia Solutions Limited. Penny has a solid foundation in technical roles, starting with a Senior Technical Specialist position in the Materials and Inspection Group at Nuclear Science and Technology Services and earlier experience at BNFL as a Research Associate & Technical Specialist. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Auxetic Microporous Materials and a BEng (Hons) in Materials Science & Engineering, both from the University of Liverpool. Additional diverse experience includes a brief tenure as a Bank Manager and work as a Mountain Guide and summer student in metallurgy and R&D departments.
