Matthew Martin serves as the Saudi Arabia Bureau Chief and Global Sovereign Wealth Fund Correspondent for SEMAFOR, focusing on Saudi Arabia's transformation and financial dynamics in the Middle East since July 2025. Prior to joining SEMAFOR, Matthew held the position of Chief Correspondent for MENA Sovereign Wealth Funds at Bloomberg, where responsibilities included overseeing investments and their implications for local economies, as well as managing coverage in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Yemen. Experience also includes leadership as Banking & Finance Editor at MEED, where Matthew provided extensive coverage of financial markets in the region. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Online Journalism from Nottingham Trent University and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Philosophy from King's College London.
