Doran Steele has worked in a variety of roles in the field of information technology and services. Starting in 1993, Steele held the position of Student Library Assistant at the Wisconsin Historical Society. In 1994, Steele worked as a Student Library Assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. From 1997 to 2003, Steele worked as a Quality Assurance/Software Tester at Epic. From 2003 to 2006, Steele worked as a Graduate Student Instructor at the University of Michigan. From 2006 to 2014, Steele held three roles at ProQuest, including Platform Manager, Product Manager (Chadwyck-Healey Publishing), and Editor (Micromedia). From 2014 to 2019, Steele worked as a Product Manager II, Gale Primary Sources at Cengage Learning. Most recently, Steele worked as a Senior Project Manager, Health Information Technology and Services at Michigan Medicine from 2019 to 2021.
Doran Steele obtained a BA in History and French from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1997, followed by an MA in History and Russian Studies from the University of Michigan in 2006.
