Chris Wimmer 🚀

Chris Wimmer has a diverse work experience spanning different industries. Chris is currently working at gener8tor, a global venture capital firm and startup accelerator, where they hold the role of Senior Managing Director in the Venture Studios division. In this role, Chris is responsible for partnering with aspiring entrepreneurs to build and launch startups from scratch. Chris provides these startup spinouts with resources such as startup capital, business models, product and service concepts, and business development connections.

Prior to their current position, Chris was the Managing Director in the Venture Studio division at gener8tor. During their time in this role, they led an intensive 16-week program aimed at creating high-growth, venture-backed startups in the Midwest. Chris worked closely with selected operators who functioned as CEOs of the startup spinouts.

Chris also has experience in the cybersecurity field. Chris served as a Board Observer and Co-Founder at SemanticGuard, a company that offers advanced security protocols incorporating Zero Trust at the application level to ensure cyber resiliency. Additionally, they worked as a Strategic Advisor at Vali Cyber, where they contributed to the development of ZeroLock™, a security product addressing the specific needs of Linux.

Before embarking on their venture capital and cybersecurity roles, Chris worked as a Principal and Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) at SP Global, Inc., an international venture studio focused on commercializing societal enhancement technologies. Chris directed business, research, and technical operations for the company's HealthTech startups.

In the earlier years of their career, Chris held various positions at Crossroads United Methodist Church and Brambleton Presbyterian Church, where they served as Director of Discernment & Design, Communications Strategist, and Director of Student Ministries. Chris also worked at Vienna Presbyterian Church as part of the Student Ministries team.

Chris Wimmer's education history includes obtaining a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Christian Ministries from Sterling College.
