Kate Storey

Kate has spent the last 10 years of her career identifying and investing in transformative triple bottom line consumer product companies. She is a passionate impact investor focused on shifting the way they consume and how they live on the planet.

Kate joined the Seminal Capital team from Renewal Funds, an impact venture capital fund where Kate was a Partner. At Renewal Kate led a number of the fund's CPG investments including key roles with Sweet Earth Foods (Acquired by Nestle), Prana Snacks, Better Bean (Acquired by Hain) and Hodo Foods. During her 10 years with Renewal Funds she served as Director on a number of portfolio company Boards.

Prior to Renewal, Kate was an investment banker with CIBC World Markets where she assisted corporate and government clients with capital raising. During her time with CIBC, Kate worked in both the debt capital markets group and in equities.

Kate received her B.Sc. from Mount Allison University and her MBA from Dalhousie University in Canada. She also holds a certificate of Carbon Finance from the University of Toronto.

Kate's been involved in many environmental and social non-profits having serving as a Board Director and/or mentor with the Aboriginal Mothers' Centre, Radius Program at Simon Fraser, Forum for Women Entrepreneurs and the Georgia Strait Alliance. Kate lives in beautiful British Columbia, Canada with her husband Chris and their son Jackson.
