Sydney Jackson

Sydney Jackson is an experienced communications professional currently serving as Communications Specialist II at SEMCOG since October 2021. In this role, Sydney has been a dedicated Chairperson of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Council, promoting initiatives for a more inclusive work environment while managing key communications for General Assembly and Executive Committee events. Prior to this, Sydney held the position of Communications Specialist at SEMCOG, focusing on multimedia communications and social media management. Sydney also worked as Web, Media, and Accessibility Manager at the MSU Center for Community & Economic Development, where responsibilities included training on accessibility standards and serving as a technical advisor for virtual events. Sydney began the career as an Accessibility Intern with the MSU Outdoors Club and earned a Bachelor's degree in Experience Architecture from Michigan State University in 2021.
