Andrew Schoen is a Frontend Developer and Interaction Designer at Semio, focusing on designing workflows and interfaces for human-robot interaction since January 2024. Prior to this, Andrew completed a PhD candidacy in Computer Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from September 2016 to January 2024, emphasizing collaboration design between humans and robots. As a Graduate Research Assistant at the People and Robots Laboratory during the same period, Andrew developed methods for complex robot behaviors, integrating UX, program analysis, and tool development. Earlier experience includes a research internship at the Center for Healthy Minds from April 2011 to September 2016, where Andrew contributed to study organization and data analysis, and a role as a House Fellow at UW-Madison Housing from August 2011 to May 2013, providing residential support and event planning. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology, as well as a Master's degree in Computer Science, both from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
