Mark van Gils has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple companies and roles. Mark began their career as an eBay manager at Suant BV in 2010. From there, they interned at Fabory, where they focused on product information management and customer satisfaction research. In 2014, they completed a business development internship with Insiders, where they analyzed the company and created a new business model. Mark then worked as the General Manager of Holo Hotel, where they developed the website and managed its design. In 2015, they joined Philips as a Content Manager CQ5, specializing in website building and creation. In 2016, Mark became a Digital Marketeer at Sligro Food Group, where they managed e-mail marketing, CRM, web management, and other related activities. Mark continued their career as an E-mail Marketeer and Marketing Automation Specialist at HBL Online B.V. from 2018 to 2021. Most recently, Mark has worked as an Email Marketing Specialist at Swiss Sense and is currently employed in the same role at Semrush since 2022.
Mark van Gils pursued their education starting in 2004 at Jacob Roelands Lyceum, where they completed their VWO degree in Economie & Maatschappij in 2010. Mark then attended Avans Hogeschool Den Bosch from 2010 to 2014 and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (BBA) with a focus on Advanced Business Creation. In 2013, while still at Avans Hogeschool Den Bosch, Mark also enrolled at Fontys Hogeschool Eindhoven for a Minor in Ondernemerschap, which they completed in 2014.
