Jorge Varona has a diverse work experience primarily in the engineering and design field. Jorge has held various leadership positions in different companies, including Semtech Corporation, Gennum Corporation (and its division Snowbush IP), and Snowbush Microelectronics Mexico. At Semtech Corporation, they served as the Vice President of Engineering and previously as the Senior Director of the Mexico Design Center. In these roles, they were responsible for managing and expanding R&D operations, supporting multiple products and business units across different locations. Prior to Semtech, Jorge was the Director of the Mexico Design Center at Gennum Corporation and Director and Co-founder of the Physical Design Center at Snowbush Microelectronics Mexico. Jorge also worked as the Director of Engineering at INAPE Consultores and as a Design Engineer at Snowbush Microelectronics. Furthermore, they had a brief experience as a Visiting Researcher at Texas Instruments and served as an Adjunct Professor at Universidad Panamericana.
Jorge Varona has a comprehensive education history. Jorge pursued a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Universidad Panamericana between 1994 and 1999. Later, they attended the University of Toronto from 2000 to 2002, earning a Master of Applied Science degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Mixed-Signal Circuits. Jorge then pursued a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Microsystems from UAEM for the period from 2005 to 2009. In 2010, Jorge completed an Executive Program in Innovation & Technology Management (ADIT) from IPADE Business School.
