Matt Hagman

Principal Analog IC Design Engineer at Semtech

Matt Hagman has a strong background in the field of electronics and telecommunications. Matt started their career as a Digital ASIC Test Engineer at Nortel, where they designed and implemented test programs for digital ASIC devices. Matt then worked as an Optical Networking Integrated Circuit (ONIC) Applications Engineer, supporting ASICs for telecommunications. At Bookham Technology, they were an Optical Receiver Applications Engineer. Currently, Matt is working as a Principal Analog IC Design Engineer at Semtech. In between their industry roles, they took a one-year break to complete their master's degree at Carleton University, where they conducted research in electronic dispersion compensation.

Matt Hagman earned a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) degree in Physics from Trent University, where they attended from 1995 to 1999. Later, they pursued a Master of Applied Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Carleton University, studying from 2005 to 2008. In 2016, they obtained a certification as a Professional Engineer from the Professional Engineers Ontario.
