Randall Whorton

Randall Whorton has extensive experience in sales and leadership roles in the technology industry. Randall is currently serving as the Vice President of Sales at Semtech, where they lead a team responsible for revenue generation in the Americas region across various Semtech business units. Their role includes overseeing the sales of cellular IoT and broadband modules, Smart Connectivity services, LoRa/LoRaWAN IC's and solutions, and Circuit Protection IC's.

Prior to joining Semtech, Whorton held multiple positions at Sierra Wireless. As the Vice President of Sales, IoT Solutions, they led an international team across North America and EMEA, focusing on selling Sierra Wireless' IoT modules, managed connectivity and cloud services. Randall also served as the Senior Director of Sales, IoT Solutions, managing the North American sales team targeting OEM customers.

Before Sierra Wireless, Whorton gained valuable experience at Wavecom, which was later acquired by Sierra Wireless. Randall started as a Field Application Engineer, leveraging their technical background to enter the M2M/IoT space. Randall later transitioned to sales and held the roles of Regional Sales Manager and Director of Sales, OEM Solutions, responsible for driving business and managing sales teams.

Whorton's career began at Ericsson, where they worked for over nine years in various roles. Randall started in verification and then moved into a lead sales engineering position for private wireless enterprise solutions. Randall later served as a Customer Solutions Sales Manager within the services organization.

Randall Whorton obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from North Carolina State University, graduating in 1997.
