Yon Chet Yap

Yon Chet Yap is an experienced engineering professional currently serving as Section Head of Product and Test Engineering at Semtech since January 2012. In this role, Yon Chet Yap manages over 100 products and a team of product and test engineers, focusing on production sustaining activities, yield improvements, and cost reductions, while also supporting R&D and failure analysis. Previously, Yon Chet Yap held positions as a Senior Product Development Engineer at AMD, where responsibilities included functional verification and power characterization of new fusion devices, and as an Advanced Product Engineer at Altera, with a focus on new product development and rollout activities. Yon Chet Yap began his career as a Process Engineering Intern at Osram Opto Semiconductors. Yon Chet Yap holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Melbourne, earned between 2002 and 2006.
