Technical Director at Senceive

Bryn Smith has a diverse work experience ranging from technical director and CTO roles in the wireless sensor network industry to electronic design engineering in the automotive sector. From 2018 to the present, Smith has held the position of Technical Director at Senceive, where they design, plan, implement, and test wireless sensor network devices. Prior to this, from 2012 to 2018, Smith served as the CTO at Senceive, overseeing the design and development of wireless sensor network solutions for the construction and infrastructure industries.

Before joining Senceive, Smith worked as an Electronic Design Engineer at Continental Automotive (Instrumentation and Driver HMI) from 2007 to 2012. In this role, they were responsible for designing and developing embedded software for automotive electronic control units, particularly instrument clusters. Smith also worked on software project management and requirements engineering for various projects with teams in Germany, Singapore, and Romania.

Earlier in their career, Smith worked as a Computer Science Tutor at La Trobe University. From 2006 to 2007, they taught lab classes and marked assignments for subjects such as Java, C and C++, and Algorithms and Data Structures. Smith also served as the IT Manager at Menzies College from 2003 to 2006.

Additionally, Smith gained work experience at Holden in 2006 to 2007, where they participated in a work experience program.

Bryn Smith began their education at Horsham College, where they studied from 1997 to 2002 and obtained a Victorian Certificate of Education. Later, they attended La Trobe University from 2003 to 2007, pursuing a Bachelor of Electronic Engineering (Hons) and a Bachelor of Computer Science (Hons). Additionally, in 2004, Bryn participated in a study abroad program at the University of Leicester, focusing on Electronic Engineering.
