Lloyd Blackbeard

Lloyd Blackbeard has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering, starting with their current role as a Staff Embedded Software Engineer at Senceive since January 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at the same company from April 2019 to January 2023. Before joining Senceive, Lloyd held various roles at Nortech International starting in August 2015, including R&D Design Engineer from April 2017 to February 2019, and Engineering Services Engineer from August 2015 to March 2017. During their time at Nortech International, their responsibilities included schematic design, PCB layout, firmware development, documentation, and sourcing of "non-stock" parts.

Lloyd Blackbeard completed their Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering from UKZN - Howard College from 2008 to 2011. Lloyd then pursued their Master of Science in Engineering with a focus on Wireless Communications at the same institution from 2012 to 2014. In addition, they obtained a certification in Neural Networks for Machine Learning from Coursera in July 2017.
