McKenna Wirth began their career in 2017 as a Q?Crew Captain at the Smithsonian Institution Museum of Natural McKenna'story, where they were responsible for mentoring and training new Q?Crew volunteers, troubleshooting and resolving issues with visitors, equipment, and collection, and receiving extensive training, field trips, and interaction with experts. In 2018, they began working at Carleton College, where they held three roles - Technical Assistant, Office Assistant, and Resident Assistant. As a Technical Assistant, they were responsible for hanging, focusing, troubleshooting, and repairing lights, as well as setting construction and painting, and obtaining Genie and Lift certifications. As an Office Assistant, they created Excel schedules, set up events, scanned and copied documents, and performed data entry and image captioning. As a Resident Assistant, they built community and enforced Residential Life policies on a floor of 20 residents, and resolved emergency conflicts, having been trained in conflict management and leadership. In 2020, McKenna Wirth began working at the U.S. Department of State as a VSFS Student Intern, where they developed four social media campaigns, a 21-part Instagram Takeover for Students' Day, conducted a systematic review of 15 peer EUR Facebook accounts, and scored 11 applications and interviewed six finalists for the Fulbright TEA Program. Finally, McKenna Wirth is currently employed at SendSafely as a Business Operations Associate, a role they began in 2022.

McKenna Wirth is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Carleton College, with a minor in Russian, from 2018 to 2022. In 2021, they also took classes in Russian Language and Culture and Kyrgyz Language and Culture at the American University of Central Asia (AUCA).
