Simone Longo

Simone Longo is a Senior Geotechnical Engineer at SENER since April 2007, with notable experience as the Senior Project Engineer for the Central Area of the HS2 High-Speed Railway project between London and Birmingham. Longo possesses extensive expertise in geotechnical investigations, foundation designs for viaducts and structures, highway and railway foundations, material movements, and slope stability studies, among others. Prior to this role, Longo served as a Ph.D. student at CEGEO from January 2002 to March 2007, focusing on risk analysis in underground works, while earlier experience includes a position as a Project Engineer at Studio Ing. Poluzzi. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Geotechnical Risk Investigation from Instituto Superior Técnico and a degree in Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering from Università degli studi di Bologna.
