Maarten Paulides has a diverse work experience in the field of (bio)medical electromagnetics, with a focus on the development of image-guided therapy for cancer treatment without side-effects. Maarten currently serves as a Full Professor of (Bio)medical Electromagnetics at Technische Universiteit Eindhoven, holding various roles such as Chair of the Electromagnetics for Care&Cure Research Lab (EM4C&C) and Scientific Director of the Center for Care & Cure Technology Eindhoven (C3Te). Prior to this, they were an Associate Professor and Universitair Hoofd Docent at Erasmus MC, where they conducted research on hyperthermia and image-guided therapy for cancer treatment. Maarten also played a key role in establishing collaborations with other institutions in the field. Additionally, Maarten Paulides co-founded Sensius - sense in thermotherapy, a startup company dedicated to hyperthermia in cancer treatment, and served as an advisor in medical physics. Maarten has also been involved in various committees and has worked as a visiting researcher at GE Research and Duke University Medical Center.
Maarten Paulides has an extensive education history in the fields of Health/Medical Physics and Electrical Engineering. In 2007, they earned a PhD (cum laude) from the Erasmus University Rotterdam, where they specialized in Health/Medical Physics. Prior to that, they completed their MSc in Electrical Engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology between 1997 and 2002. In 1996-1997, they obtained a first-year degree in Electrical Engineering from Avans University of Applied Sciences, specifically at the 's Hertogenbosch location.
In addition to their academic degrees, Maarten Paulides obtained a BKO (basic teaching license) from the Erasmus MC in February 2018.
