Karel Nanninga

Karel Nanninga is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in business strategy, growth, and development within the energy sector. Currently serving as the business unit lead for OEE and head of R&D at Sensorfact since 2022, Karel is responsible for strategy, new business initiatives, R&D, and marketing, having managed various successful projects including product introductions and a CRM migration. Prior experience includes working as an investment manager at Eneco Ventures from 2020 to 2022, where Karel was instrumental in achieving multiple exits totaling approximately EUR 120M and facilitating new transactions worth EUR 30M. Karel also served as a consultant at Boston Consulting Group from 2015 to 2020, focusing on strategy in the energy and private equity sectors across multiple global locations. Academically, Karel holds a Master's degree in Econometrics & Operations Research from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering/Econometrics from the University of Groningen, alongside a background in music from the Royal Academy of Music.
