Jeremy Squires has a diverse range of work experience spanning over 30 years. Jeremy began their career as a Navigating Officer in the shipping industry from 1987 to 1990. Jeremy then transitioned to working at the Marine Institute of Memorial University as a Systems Specialist from 1992 to 1996, where they were responsible for maintaining and developing ship's simulator systems and Unix systems administration.
From 1996 to 1999, Jeremy worked at Nautical Data International as a Product Developer, specializing in marine cartographic, geomatic, and SGML publication. During this time, they developed various products including Digital Sailing Directions for the Canadian Hydrographic Service and implemented dealer order processing applications, geomatics vector data viewing applications, and geographical metadata repositories.
In 1999, Jeremy joined OpenText and held multiple roles throughout their tenure. Jeremy started as a Software Developer and Systems Integrator, then became a Project Manager, and eventually rose to the position of Principal Managing Consultant. Their responsibilities varied from developing systems and software architectures, consulting on content server performance and troubleshooting, to advising on systems management procedures for large-scale content server deployments.
In 2011, Jeremy joined OpenText and served as a Managing Consultant, where they were accountable for new service development and utility development for a global service management team. Jeremy also led workshops in service development and maintenance in both real life and virtual environments.
From 2013 to 2017, Jeremy worked at OpenText as a Software Development Manager, leading distributed software development teams and establishing agile software engineering processes. Jeremy also developed high-quality code and solved tough problems.
Most recently, Jeremy joined Renoworks Software in 2017 as a Senior Software Developer. Their work involved modernizing web front ends, building APIs, developing graphics rendering and production tools, and utilizing various programming languages and frameworks.
In 2019, Jeremy started working at SensorUp Inc. as a Senior Software Developer, specializing in IoT and Geomatics Visualization Platform development. Jeremy also worked on wearable sensor app development and back-end API development using various technologies.

Jeremy Squires started their education in 1982 at the Fisheries and Marine Institute of Memorial University of Newfoundland, where they pursued a Diploma of Nautical Science in the field of Marine Science/Merchant Marine Navigating Officer. Jeremy completed this program in 1987. Following that, from 1990 to 1992, they attended Memorial University of Newfoundland and obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science.
