Bryan Pellom has had a long and successful career in the field of speech and vision technologies. Bryan began their work in 1999 as a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado, Boulder, where they developed and co-invented the SONIC speech recognition platform. In 2005, they founded Audiolocity, Inc., a University of Colorado start-up that combined speech recognition and natural language processing technologies for audio indexing and search. In 2006, they joined Rosetta Stone as the VP of Speech Development, where they managed a team of speech recognition software developers and researchers and was responsible for setting direction for speech recognition research and development efforts. Bryan then became the Senior Director of Speech Technologies, where they established the Boulder Colorado R&D office of Rosetta Stone as a center of excellence for speech recognition and speech technology development. In 2013, they joined Sensory, Inc. as the VP of Vision and Emerging Technologies, where they supported their mission in delivering innovative solutions that integrate computer vision and advanced audio processing technologies. Bryan also served as the VP of Emerging Technologies, where they developed novel technologies that extend and enhance Sensory's product portfolio.
Bryan Pellom received their B.S. in Computer and Electrical Engineering from Purdue University between 1990 and 1994. Bryan then went on to receive their M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Duke University in 1995-1996. Finally, they completed their Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Duke University in 1996-1998.
